In the UK the bat population has been declining, this is in part due to Building and development , Loss of habitat, Light pollution and chemicals.
There are 18 species of bats in the UK and 4 of the 11 Red Listed British mammals are bats, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
We believe we all have a responsibility to take care of our wildlife and stop anymore animals and mammals going extinct.
We have designed into this Bat Box our usual quality and longevity. Normally we shy away from wood because it goes rotten when exposed to the rigours of the weather, but because wood has good insulation properties to help keep the Bats warm and is good for grip, we designed a double tier assembly in order to concentrate more Bats for collective warmth, using only the best quality Latvian plywood grooved in the horizontal fashion. In order to protect this wooden assembly from the weather we have provided an all-round fiberglass cover leaving just the bottom clear for the Bats to enter.
